Description
Coils of large Power Transformers are wound over a special type of insulating Pressboard cylinder. These special Pressboards are available in standard sheet forms, which are first rolled into cylindrical shapes and then joined to make a cylinder of desired size. The edges of the Press board that are joined are scarfed/beveled before joining them to form the cylinder.
This scarfing/beveling operation is done on a special type of milling machine with a traveling type milling head. The milling head is adjustable to cut the desired width with the required angle. The sheet is pneumatically clamped on a fabricated table having a smooth surface. The traveling type milling head is also fitted with spring loaded pressing rollers to prevent lifting of the sheet during milling operation. A disappearing type stopper is provided for butting of the sheet prior to clamping and cutting. A motorised slitting device can be fitted with the machine for slitting of the sheet if required before milling operation. The machine is equipped with an independent Vacuum Dust collector and an electrical control panel.
